Some things stink when you’ve got ADHD and a job

  • You’re talented and you work hard but you don’t see all the success that you “ought” to.
  • You know how to schedule but you’re never on schedule.
  • You know how to organize but you’re not organized.
  • You have no idea where the time goes.
  • You have a million ideas, and trouble prioritizing; or you know how to prioritize, but you can’t stay focused on the top one or two things.
  • You hate failing to meet commitments (to yourself and to others), but you’re really good at it.
  • People who work with you love you! And they sometimes want to kill you.

Here’s what I can do with you

Using skills I’ve built over ~30 years as a business professional, and a lifetime with ADHD:

  • I’ll help you see what you’re actually doing well, what you’re doing poorly, and what you’re doing in between.
  • I’ll help you analyze your work from an executive coaching perspective (i.e., the big picture that includes your personal and business goals) combined with an ADHD coaching perspective (i.e., where are you stronger or weaker because of ADHD?)
  • I’ll help you size up your opportunities and challenges.
    • Where can you get the biggest results by doing more of what you’re good at? Where can you get the biggest results by “fixing” the things that you aren’t good at?
    • I’ll help you see where (and how) your methods and habits (whether or not they’re related to ADHD) cause problems for you and others.
  • I’ll help you figure out which challenges to attack first, based on our knowledge of (a) how much the problem costs you b) how much energy (and time) it will take to fix it.
    • Then I’ll help you attack each problem: one at a time, changing tactics as necessary, until we’ve hit it as much as we need to.
  • Lastly, I’ll help you stick with the plan, evaluate your results, and tweak the plan as necessary.

Here’s what you’ll get

  • You’ll get a clear understanding of your personal and business goals, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • You’ll get a strong sense of your strengths and weaknesses as an executive (who has talent, drive, and ADHD).
  • You’ll have a written set of priorities for what you want to work on first (and why!), and what you’ll work on later (and why!) or what you’ll quit working on entirely (and why!).
  • You’ll build a written game plan with goals and objectives (in words and with numbers) on what you really want to achieve, and what you can realistically achieve.
  • You’ll get a set of tools (ADHD tools, especially) that can make big improvements to your (a) effectiveness, (b) efficiency, and (c) peace of mind.
  • You’ll have a partner to help you use the tools, and help you keep working the tools until they become a natural part of your system (or until you discard them in favor of other tools).
  • And finally: you’ll get more of the successes and results that you’ve always worked for, but haven’t fully won.
